Transport of
over-dimensional shipments is a specialty that requires exacting

MMI’s staff includes an in-house engineer, who carefully reviews all drawings and calculations with the selected carrier’s operations department to insure the safest possible loading and delivery of your cargo. Whether your shipment is domestic or international, via rail, barge, truck or ship, MMI will be there to handle your most challenging over dimensional requirements.

Multi-axle hydraulic trailing equipment moves the largest, heaviest equipment. MMI transports heavy equipment, oversize and overweight cargo. Standard assortment of lowbed trailers. MMI transports by truck in all 50 states and throughout the world.
MMI was called upon to support a major transportation project for the Egyptian Air Force. Nine Westland H-3 Commando helicopters were shipped from Egypt for depot level rebuild at a commercial vendor in Alabama under a US Navy funded Foreign Military Sales program. The problem was that the helicopters required some disassembly to be placed in a configuration that could be trucked from the arrival port up to the vendor. MMI quickly formed an independent team of aircraft mechanics qualified for the task. MMI removed the helicopters from LASH barges, disassembled them to trucking configuration, trucked them to the vendor, and reassembled the on site.

MMI handled complete transportation of two massive cold boxes for gas separation plants. Both boxes were manufactured in Masury Ohio and measured one hundred twenty two feet long by fifteen feet ten inches wide by thirteen feet nine inches high and weighed one hundred and ninety five thousand pounds each. One was transported to Mulberry, Arkansas and the other to Lawton, Oklahoma.
To accomplish this job MMI participated in the design of a specially fabricated schnabel attachment which connected the piece to the trailer. The new piece reduced the overall gross weight by more than 20,000#.
